Review
Your Rates for 2008
Now is a good
time to review your rates setup for billing in your ULTRACare software.
Medicaid coinsurance rates typically increase January 1st and many
facilities also increase their room rates and ancillary rates at
the beginning of the calendar year. You should make any rate changes
effective January 1st before generating charges for January dates
of service.
Keep
in mind that room rates and coinsurance rates are maintained on
resident type codes as well as on override rate records. Ancillary
charge rates are maintained on Procedure Codes and may also be maintained
in Recurring Ancillaries and Recurring Monthly Ancillaries. Menu
options for Mass Rate Increases for Resident Types, Procedure Codes,
and Override Rates are available in our Admissions module, under
Setup, Utilities.
If
you have any questions about how to update your rates, please call
us at 800-666-3883.

Tips
& Techniques: Room & Board Income Test Report
This option located
in the Accounts Receivable module under Month End allows you to
print a detailed report that projects room & board income based
on the resident's status. The process will take into consideration
resident type rate changes, resident override rates and whether
the rate is prorated for the month. Use this option to perform your
days times rate income test.
The
report prints the resident's number and name, resident type, period
dates, number of days, room and board income rate and the total
income amount. There is a summary report at the end that prints
by resident type the total number of days, total income amount and
the income general ledger account number that was affected. You
can also export this report to excel.
Compare
this report to your actual room and board revenue for a month to
make sure you have accounted for the revenue for the month.
For
more information on reconciling your Accounts Receivable, refer
to the Month End and Collections procedures guide located under
Help, ULTRACare Documentation then select Procedure Guide.
